WEDNESDAYS 9.30am - 12.30pm
6 weeks - £150
Starts Wednesday 21st January 2026
Runs 21st & 28th January, 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th February
Venue: Attic Studio, Pegasus Art, Stroud, GL5 2AZ
The workshop will enable you to expand on your own personal drawing style and introduce many new methods. The tutor will demonstrate how to combine techniques together to create the effects you've always been looking for, and some that you never knew existed! We will enjoy exploratory mark making exercises and then put your new skills into action as we work from observation - still life, natural forms and landscape imagery. You will also be able to select your own starting point and work towards more sustained, finished pieces.
Techniques we will explore include: line, tone, washes, erasers and brushes as drawing tools, additive and subtractive marks, positive and negative space, perspective and scale.
Recommended Equipment List
As the course progresses you will be given suggestions of items to bring with you to use as reference
At least six sheets of A2 Cartridge paper, to start us off
Please bring 2B, 4B and 6B pencils, an eraser and a pencil sharpener
You may also like to bring some charcoal sticks
A sketch book, any size, to develop ideas
Everything you need for this course is available to buy in the shop with an extra 5% discount.
